To All the Boys I've Loved Before Series Booktalk

I really enjoyed this book series. Though I found it to be a little too cutesy and perfect, I did have fun and loved the characters (especially Kitty/Katherine because she reminds me of me when I was little). I also liked how simple and sweet the storyline was (maybe because I've been reading really complex stories and I needed a break). Anyways, I would recommend these books to anyone who loves young romance.

<SPOILER ALERT>

I did actually really like these books, but it was on the predictable side (though in all fairness, it probably was meant to be). The characters were endearing and fun (especially when we got sweet family or romantic moments), and I enjoyed the nerd-aspects and references to Korean culture (because I can relate.) Alright, here are my thoughts on the characters:

Lara-Jean: She was sweet and cute, but not all that relatable to me. Sometimes, I feel as if she blows things out of proportions, but nonetheless, I think she's a pretty solid and fun lead to follow.

Margot: A nice, responsible older sister who really does care (not much I have to say about her).

Kitty: Quite honestly my favorite part of the books. She was funny and weird and lovable (probably my favorite Song Covey).

Peter: An interesting, flawed character that helped the book grow in the right direction while still being sweet and joking. His and Kitty's friendship warmed my heart. I like his and Lara Jean's relationship, though I am sometimes bothered by his vain acts and constant assuredness.

Josh: Pretty protective and judging (in a bad way I think), but honestly not a villain. He was just the wrong guy at the wrong time. His nerdy friendship with Lara-Jean was always cute, and though he wasn't mentioned in the third book much, he seemed genuinely nice at the beginning of the first book.

John Ambrose-Mcclaren: ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I'm pretty sure I'm team John. He's so charming and smart (and a little nerdy, which is cute). He wasn't there for long, and I WANT MORE OF HIM. We didn't really get to see his flaws, so compared to Peter, he seemed way better. But like he said, it wasn't their time.

Chris: She can be a little selfish and manipulative, but she's definitely a badass. Some interactions with Lara were really cute, and it was clear they understood each other.

I know there are more characters, but I covered most of the mains. Anyways, the who-mailed-the-letters plotline was predictable. I'm pretty sure everyone BUT Lara-Jean knew that. However, the first book had some interesting plot twists (which weren't as present in the last two).

MOVING ON: I really liked the story; everything was rainbows and butterflies and fun for the majority of the book, and it was a nice, light-hearted read. It was both heartwarming and sometimes sad, which surprised me by how much the characters had grown on me.

Some highlights: USO PARTY USO PARTY USO PARTY (yeah that's my favorite moment and apparently the only one I can remember)

Final Scores:

To All the Boys I've Loved Before: 8/10

PS I Still Love You: 8.5/10

Always and Forever, Lara Jean: 7.5/10
