Love, Simon Movietalk

Hey everyone (despite the fact that no one reads this blog). Today, I wanted to discuss the movie "Love, Simon". I watched it last night with my friend, L. I had previously read "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda", so I was EXTREMELY excited. The LGBT+ community receives very little recognition in movies and TV (and queer-baiting is still an awful issue), so I felt like this is what everyone needed. The theater was packed with cheering people ready to see a fantastic love story, and that's what they got.

I laughed. I (almost) cried. I threw angry fits. But it was all worth it. If you haven't watched this movie, GO WATCH IT!

<SPOILER SECTION...BEWARE>

THE. FERRIS. WHEEL. KISS. ADORABLE. SO HEARTWARMING. (That's when I almost started crying).

The movie started out quite basic: slightly cringe-inducing high school contemporary. Some of the characters seemed WAY TOO exaggerated, and the jokes were quite obviously written by adults. But I have to admit, some of the lines were hilarious. And when the plot picked up, THE PLOT PICKED UP. The acting was wonderful, and lots of the characters were relatable and fun.

The ending was extremely adorable, and I felt my heart swelling in my chest by the end of the movie. So good. So good.

edit: I apparently never posted this. It's now a couple weeks old...arghhhh!
